7. 4th of July Firecracker Dogs

Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated breadstick dough
- 2 packages -16 hot dogs
- 16 thick slices of Colby cheese
- 16 skewers
Instructions
- First take your skewers and stick them all the way through your hot dogs leaving about an inch and a half exposed out of the top of each hot dog. Then take a piece of breadstick dough and carefully wrap it around the hot dog until you get to the top. Place the wrapped dogs on parchment paper and bake according to the package directions for the breadstick dough.
- For the cheese, use a small star cookie cutter to cut out your stars. (Tip: When buying the cheese, go to your grocery’s deli counter and ask for them to slice you pieces of cheese that are 1/4″-3/8″ thick.)
- After your dogs have cooled for 2-3 minutes, stick the star through the skewer at the top. Enjoy!
8. Homemade Popsicles

These 4th of July fruit popsicles from Cooking Therapy are a fun, easy treat to make with kids. They’re going to be quite popular with the adults too!
All you need is:
- Strawberries – red
- Coconut milk – white
- Blueberries – blue
- Granulated sugar (optional if you want it sweeter)
- Popsicle molds
Instructions
This low-cost 4th of July snack is easy to make, but requires a bit of time.
- Puree your strawberries and 1 tablespoon of sugar together. Divide the puree evenly among 10 popsicle molds. Put in the freezer to freeze for 3 hours.
- Whisk together coconut milk and another tablespoon of sugar. Pour this over the frozen strawberry puree. Let it freeze for another 3 hours. (Each time you do this, you are ensuring each layer doesn’t mix in with the next layer.)
- Lastly, puree blueberries and the last tablespoon of sugar together. Pour over the coconut milk and let it freeze for 3 more hours or overnight.
9. Patriotic Popcorn

Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons salted butter
- 10 ounces marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 6 tablespoons red and blue sprinkles
- Frosting (optional)
Instructions
- Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper
- Over medium heat, add butter to a large saucepan until melted. Do not let the butter get brown.
- Add in the marshmallows and mix until fully melted. Remove the saucepan from the stovetop.
- Add in the Rice Krispies cereal and mix until the cereal is fully coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
- Press the mixture into the dish. Sprinkle with the sprinkles and frosting if using. Press the sprinkles into the Rice Krispies treats.
- Allow the Rice Krispies Treats to set for 10-15 minutes. Cut into 24 squares and enjoy!
14. American Flag Veggie Cups

This is a fantastic way to serve veggies & dip at your 4th of July or just for a fun snack. While the star & American flag toothpicks are optional, they sure do make the serving cups look cute!
All you have to do is drop a scoop of vegetable dip or hummus in the bottom of the cup, add your favorite sliced veggies on top & you’re done!
15. Firecracker Pretzel Rods

Ingredients
- Large pretzel rods
- Candy melts – Use red, royal blue, and white (like in the picture) or add food coloring to white chocolate.
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Melt each color of candy melt in a separate tall glass in the microwave, using 30-second increments and stirring in between. Do this until fully melted.
- Dip 8 of the pretzel rods into the blue candy melt.
- Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, wax paper, or foil.
- Then dip 8 of the pretzels in the red candy melt, and the remaining 8 in the white candy melt. Place them on the cookie sheet as well.
- With a fork, drizzle the opposite color candy melts onto the pretzel rods for decoration. Top with the sprinkles.
- Allow them to cool completely (1 hour at room temperature or 30 minutes in the refrigerator).

- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce

- 4 6-inch flour tortillas
Instructions
- Mix chicken, cream cheese, hot sauce, and green onions in a medium bowl until combined. Evenly divide filling between the four tortillas. Spread to the edges.
