Expert Motivational Quotes That Inspire You To Dream Bigger Than You Thought Possible
The other day I heard a fantastic true story about the Tony and Grammy award-winning actor, Leslie Odom Jr. He’s best known for his character, Aaron Burr, in the musical Hamilton.
Before he became the star he is, he struggled mightily.
No one was giving him call backs, and the constant rejection and instability were getting to him. So, one day, he asked a person he admired to lunch. And then shared that he was thinking about quitting.
His mentor’s reply was unexpected.
He responded “You can quit. But I’d love to see you try first.”
This shocked Odom. He WAS trying, darn it. He was going to auditions and taking what was offered.
But then his mentor pointed out all the ways he could be taking ownership. All the ways Odom could make work for himself and stop waiting for someone to give him permission.
That conversation changed everything. It wasn’t easy, but Odom made a promise to himself to never again wait for the phone to ring.
He says “the second he got off the couch and started doing things for himself, the universe met him more than halfway.”
So, let’s take this mentor’s amazing advice for our own.
When you think of your biggest life goals, are you really giving it your all? Or are you holding back?
The difference is small. But important.
Make the changes you want to see. Start now.
Why is compound interest such a powerful thing in saving and investing? Two reasons:
- It allows for exponential growth. The sky is the limit!
- It’s passive. (meaning, it does the work for you)
Your money compounds from both the principal and accumulated interest over time.
Think of it like a snowball picking up speed and getting bigger the more time it rolls down the hill. This is what happens to your money too!
How do you prioritize tasks and activities to ensure you focus on what’s important to you?
Describe your process.
How can you be sure you have counterfeit money?
If it’s a three-dollar bill, you can be sure. 🤣
