What’s So Great About Sugar Scrub?
Sugar scrub is a body scrub that can be used in the shower or bath to exfoliate and remove dry skin. Dead skin cells can accumulate over time and it’s best to remove them for the health of your skin. Plus, you’ll get a moisturizing boost!
Supplies You’ll Need

For the basic recipe, you’ll need:
- Cane sugar or brown sugar
- Coconut oil (you can also use another carrier oil you have like olive oil or jojoba oil)
- Essential oil of your choosing (I give three options below, but you can really use anything you want!)
- Jars (I used these but small mason jars work just as well)
- Optional: These wooden spoons are adorable for gifting with your scrub.
- Optional: 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil for a moisture boost
Note: The most expensive part of this gift will be the essential oil you choose. But essential oils can also be used for other purposes like for cleaning and in diffusers.
How to Make This Easy Sugar Scrub Gift

1. In a small glass bowl stir the coconut oil (it’s easier to mix if you melt it first) with sugar using a spoon. Add the essential oils and/or vitamin E oil if using. (You can also do this sugar scrub without fragrance and just leave it out.)

2. Transfer to your jar or another airtight container, seal tightly and store at room temperature.
The sugar scrub will stay good for up to 2 months. But do not let moisture into the jar. Use the spoon to portion it out and always seal it tightly.
