Barbara Corcoran was a D student in high school and college. She was labeled the “dumb kid” in school and bullied. She later learned that she had dyslexia. She held 20 jobs by the time she turned 23!
But then she borrowed $1,000 and quit her job as a waitress to start a tiny real estate company in New York City. The Corcoran Group is now the largest and best-known brand in the brokerage business. She sold it for $66 million in 2001.
