5 September Money Moves – Hidden Treasure, Tiny Wins, & Not Quitting

monthly money moves

Hi friend! Once a month I highlight 5 real-life ways I saved, earned, and invested.

Here are the money moves this month:

1. I Did the Hidden Cash Challenge

Which is exactly like it sounds! For 7 days, I tried to find money hidden in plain sight. Read about how the Hidden Cash Challenge went here >>

2. I Focused on Small Improvements

Now that the kids are back in school, I had more time to make tiny improvements in business and life. I hope these will snowball over time.

Things like:

  • Better email newsletter formatting
  • Improved work processes with my work team
  • Ways to make things easier (monthly budgeting, etc)

Which brings me to the next one…

3. I Didn’t Quit

Quite frankly, some of the changes I worked on this month bombed. Others haven’t shown as much progress as I’d like.

But I’ve been thinking lately about one of the secrets to success. And it’s within my control.

Don’t quit.

Each time something didn’t work, I could have stopped. In fact, it was ridiculously tempting to do so.

But instead, I keep testing. Because with persistence, something is bound to work.

Maybe, success is: Being like a dog with a bone.

4. I Ran the Budget Numbers

I’ve been slacking on this recently. Our schedule has been busy, and I haven’t checked expenses and accounts often. But this month, I sat down, ran the numbers, updated the net worth sheet, and got everything up to date. It’s a small win!

5. We Had 3 “Leftover” Nights This Month

And finally, I’m starting to LOVE leftover nights! We waste less food, spend less on eating out, AND I don’t have to cook.

I’m spreading the word. Leftover nights are awesome!
